Staff of the lecturers includes  15 professors, 22 PHD, 134 senior lecturers (2011 may).

Total number of students is    2177 - daytime , 1972 - distant (2011 may).

Way and duration of education is    daytime (4 y.) and distant (5 y.).

The institute graduates with excellent grades are awarded a graduation diploma which is a state-authorized document asserting the higher education completion for state agencies.

At the Institute Academy the following units function: students’ council, trade union of students and professors, sport club with various branches, choir, musical groups.

The Institute educates teachers and specialists in around 20 professions of national economy. 70 per cent of the specialists in educational system of the region are the alumni of the Institute.

The alumni of the Institute also work in different fields of national economy of Republic of Armenia.

The Institute possesses a rich library.

Taking into account the catastrophic state and hard social conditions of the population of the region, the tuition fee is low in whole republic. A special committee is established at the Institute discussing the issues of relieving the tuition or making discounts twice a year. A system of social purposes functions for students with excellent grades and different social groups.

Two kinds of competition are being implemented in correspondence section:

1. PURPOSEFUL COMPETITION. For pupils sent on an assignment. The tuition fee is 50,000 drams.

2. COMPETITION IN COMMON BASE. Students passing this competition pay the fixed amount, which does not exceed the 50 % of fixed amount for the same specialization.

Special discount is being implemented for those students who passed the common competition and working as teachers for more than a year.

SUPPORTING COLLEGE

It is already 7 years a supporting college functions under the Institute with three branches and seven professions:
1. Armenian language;
2. English language;
3. history;
4. physics;
5. mathematics;
6. biology;
7. chemistry.
Students from the branches of physics and mathematics are being interviewed during the admitting.

The education is free of charge, functions on the base of high school’s 9th class.

The order for “Student subsidies and state scholarship at the institutes of higher education in Republic of Armenia” adopted by RoA Government’s Resolution No.1183-N dated June 27, 2006. This makes chance for exchange.

Since September 2006 35 students provided state scholarship (free system) as a result of competition. 60 students have maintained their status.
